We live in Strange Times. There’s a lot of uncertainty in the world and it’s causing a lot of anxiety. One thing that you might find helpful is mindfulness. I’ve been practicing mindfulness daily for over a year and a half. Sometimes two or three times a day. It’s had a huge impact on me, my relationships and my health (mental, physical and emotional).

But I didn’t take to it straight away. I’m not a natural tree hugger! I had a few false starts over a 3 year period before it “clicked”. Then I “got it” and the thing that changed was I got the Calm app on my phone.

Calm is guided mindfulness app (and website) that makes mindfulness a doddle.

About Calm

Once you download the app (or log in the website) you’ll find a whole section for beginners in the meditate part of the app. Each session is guided so all you need to do is find somewhere comfortable to sit, select the session and press play.

I use headphones most of the time but sometimes I just play it out loud on my phone.

There’s a Daily Calm too, which is a new guided session each day right from the home page. And there’s loads and loads of additional content too. Stories to help you get off to sleep, mindful music or just the sound of rain falling on leaves!

With sections for stress, anxiety, sleep, focus, inner care, relationships, personal growth and emotions to name a few, there’s loads and loads and loads of sessions. There’s even one for kids too.
