Important Information
We would like to make you aware of a cyber incident that occurred on Monday 20 September 2021 and into the early hours of Tuesday 21 September 2021.
Our hosted IT provider were unfortunately the victims of a malicious cyber-attack. The attack was a breach that met the incident threshold for requirement to report to the Information Commissions Office (ICO). We reported this to the ICO on the 24th September 2021.
Whilst we are still awaiting the full analysis and report, we have been informed that there is currently no evidence that any data was stolen. The cyber attackers used sophisticated tools to encrypt the data and demand a ransom in order to provide the code to decrypt the data.
We were continuously updated by our IT providers and they have worked tirelessly to restore all systems and provide extra security measures.
Due to the way we work and the systems we use we were able to continue business as usual. There was only one system we were unable to access whilst the system was down.
We would like to use this as an opportunity to express how important it is to ensure that your devices are secure, and that you are careful when browsing online. This includes ensuring that your device has security software installed and that you do not use the same password for login information. Please also be cautious when clicking on links that you receive in e-mails. If it looks suspicious, then it most likely is. Take care. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
