Market numbersThe FTSE All Share index, representing the performance of all 627 eligible companies listed on the London Stock Exchange has finished the week at 3,055.16, a decrease of 39.54 points on the day and 6.31 points lower than its 3,061.47 opening value at the start of the week.

So far this year the FTSE All Share index, which accounts for approximately 98% of the UK’s market capitalisation, has gone down 7.69 points (0.25%) from its’ opening price of 3062.85 at the start of trading on 4th January 2011.

CPI annual inflation is currently 3.7% and RPI running at 4.8%.  The Bank of England (BoE) base rate is currently set at 0.5% (where it’s been since a reduction from 1.00% on 5th March 2009).
