Markets Summary: 1st July 2011

Market numbersThe markets have rallied this week with news that additional austerity measures have been passed in Greece.  The FTSE All Share index, representing the performance of all 623 eligible companies listed on the London Stock Exchange has finished the week at 3,120.33 an increase of 23.61 points on the day and 147.25 points (4.95%) higher than its 2,973.08 opening value at the start of the week.

So far this year the FTSE All Share index, which accounts for approximately 98% of the UK’s market capitalisation, has gone up 57.48 points (1.88%) from its’ opening price of 3062.85 at the start of trading on 4th January 2011.
