New Year….new name
Over the last 12 months there has been a lot of activity going on behind the scenes. As well as our move away from active investments, we have also reviewed and implemented an investment administration platform. The final project of the year is to give us a new identity – Proposito Financial Planning.
When Richard Witcombe set up the business in 1998 it was as a sole trader. Huw joined in 1999 and the partnership was formed in 2000. Since then the business has continued to develop and evolve. Notably the decision in May 2005 to work exclusively on a fee only basis and to offer an ongoing financial planning service to our clients. Our change of name, effective from 1st January 2011, better reflects what we do for our clients.
In addition, the business has expanded since 1998. We now have two advisers, two paraplanners and three part time administrators. The business is now run by a tight knit team and the new company name reflects this fact. Finally, Richard is not going to work on forever and the name change is just one less thing to address when Richard finally decides to take a step back and enjoy his retirement (although there are no plans for this to happen just yet!)If you are wondering why Proposito Financial Planning, Proposito is a Latin/Italian/Spanish/Portuguese word meaning ‘intention, aim, purpose’. What better way to describe the financial planning we do!
