Technical Tuesday!

By Sarah Egan

Technical Tuesday is back!

This month we are looking at lost pensions and how to find these.

This happens more often than you think, especially those who have had several employers and haven’t kept track of their pension schemes.

But worry not, below are 4 useful tips on how you can find those hidden pensions.  After all, they could make a HUGE difference to your savings in retirement:

  1. Paperwork – if you have lots of paperwork stuck in a drawer somewhere, you may find your pension information among this.
  2. Contact the provider – If you know the pension provider, give them a call (just Google their name and the contact information should come up).  You just need to know your National Insurance number and give them some personal information and they should find it for you.
  3. Contact your previous employer – If you know you had a pension with them, contact them and they should be able to give you the details.
  4. Pension tracing website – If you know who your employer or pension provider was for a pension, you can go to the government website to find the right contact details: https://www.gov.uk/find-pension-contact-details.

If this is you and you would like more information, then please do get in touch with our friendly team on 01285 708444 and we will be happy to help!
