Eirlys Reveals What’s Next After Proposito

By Proposito Team

I wanted to share a quick update as I’ve recently come to the end of a big chapter in my life and have some exciting plans ahead.

I’m Eirlys (Huw’s daughter), and I’m currently working here at Proposito as an administrative assistant (following in my brother Dylan’s foot steps – read his blog here). Earlier this summer, I completed my A-Levels in Physical Education, Sociology, and Psychology. After a lot of hard work, I’m really pleased to say I’ve accepted a place at Loughborough University to study Sport Management, starting next autumn. Loughborough has an incredible reputation for sport, and I’m so excited to start the next stage of my journey there.

Before I head off to university, I’ve decided to take a gap year to travel, volunteer and gain some new experiences. In November I’ll be flying out to Australia, where I’ll be travelling up the East Coast, starting in Sydney and finishing in Cairns in January. I’ve got a lot of family in Oz and I’m really looking forward to seeing them again, meeting new people and experiencing life on the other side of the world. Although I’m a bit apprehensive about being away from friends and family over the Christmas holidays.

After that, I’m considering heading to Africa, to volunteer at an elephant conservation centre. Working with animals has always been something I’ve been passionate about, and I’m really looking forward to learning more about wildlife protection and conservation efforts up close.

In May, I hope to continue my gap year adventures by volunteering in South America, supporting local schools and orphanages. I hope this experience will allow me to give back while also learning more about different cultures and communities.

I’m so grateful for all the support I’ve received here at Proposito and beyond. This year will no doubt be full of challenges, learning, and unforgettable moments — and I look forward to returning home with plenty of stories before starting my university journey next year.

Thanks for reading,

Eirlys
