Welcoming Fresh Ideas: A Big Thank You to Our Summer Intern, Dylan

By Huw Jones

Over the summer, we were delighted to welcome Dylan back to Proposito Financial Planning – this time as a summer intern, following a successful work experience placement with us in 2023. Now studying Economics at the University of Exeter, Dylan joined us at the end of his first year.

Dylan brought fresh energy, insight, and a genuine interest in helping people prepare for retirement in a thoughtful and meaningful way. During his time with us, he added real value across several key projects, including:

✅ Designing a Ready to Retire? Scorecard using ScoreApp to help prospective clients reflect on how prepared they are for life after work

✅ Creating a separate LifePath Wheel Scorecard to help people reflect on their contentment in various aspects of their life

✅ Streamlining the way we prepare client proposals, making the onboarding of new clients smoother and more consistent

✅ Contributing to our monthly client communications, helping us deliver informative and relevant content in a clear, engaging way for our subscribers

He also began studying for the CII Personal Taxation (R03) exam—the first step on the path to becoming a Regulated Financial Planner.

We’ve loved having Dylan as part of the team this summer. His initiative, curiosity, and professionalism made a real difference, and we’re excited to see where his career takes him. But now that university has started again he’s back to the books (and lots of rugby).

Just in case you were wondering – yes Dylan is Huw’s son. So this summer we became a third generation family business. Having set up the business in 1998, Richard (Grandpa) was delighted! And as if that wasn’t enough, we’ll remain a third generation family business for a little while longer as Huw’s daughter (Eirlys) has joined us until she heads across to Australia in November (here’s her blog).
