What will my state pension income be?

Technical Tuesday is back!

This month we are looking into the state pension and how you can find out what is available to you.

Knowing what your state pension will be is an important part of your retirement income planning, and now getting a state pension forecast is easier than it used to be.

If you register for (or already have) a Personal Tax Account online with HMRC not only can you see your state pension forecast you can also:

  • See your tax code online
  • See your State Pension Entitlement
  • Check your National Insurance contributions
  • Check your estimated Pay
  • Check your estimated Tax
  • Send queries to HMRC and check your query status

There are just 3 simple steps

  1. Go to www.gov.uk/personal-tax-account
  2. Login if you already have a government gateway account OR register*

*You will need your National Insurance Number, a mobile phone number for an activation code to be sent to you and your last 3 months payslips or details of your past P60s

  1. Go to the bottom of the main page – and select view your state pension forecast under the pensions section.

Make sure you update your financial planner with the information!
