WOW! – What a year!

By Proposito Team

Financial Planning, CirencesterAs the sun sets on 2018 it’s always good fun to take a look back at the year. Wow! What a year we have had. 2018 has been a year of fun and change in equal measure for us here at Proposito Financial Planning.

We started the year in offices in Minety (where we had been since January 2015) and finished the year at our new offices in Cirencester. The fact that the office move in July was so smooth is a direct reflection of all the hard work that both the Sarah’s put in (Sarah Egan and Sarah Sillars).

In the summer we were once again delighted to be one of the sponsors of the Minety Festival. Once again

we took the opportunity to all go camping for the weekend – with families in tow. We were treated to performances by Bon Giovi, Neville Staple Band and (The One and Only) Chesney Hawkes – who was brilliant.

We also launched our new shiny website as our existing one was in need of an overhaul. The site will become the platform for a load of really useful information so, literally, watch this space!

That wasn’t the only change though. Sarah Sillars decided to leave us at the end of September for a new challenge. She had been with us since September 2008 and was a valued member of the Proposito team. I’m sure that you will join me in thanking her for the impact that she had on all of our lives and wish her good luck in her new role (at another planning firm in Cirencester).

But as one door closes another opens.

Jade Shelton joined us in December and comes with 5 years experience working in a local financial planning firm. We’re really looking forward to working with her and settling her in. I’m sure you will get a chance to speak to her over the coming months. You can read all about her HERE.

While we were between Sarah and Jade, Sarah Egan took over the running of everything in the business. She has been working at well over 100% for a little while and it is testament to her ability that things ran so smoothly during this time.

Our Chartered Financial Planners have been busy too. Russ continues to host the Family Business Podcast and somehow found the time to study for the Advanced Certificate in Advising Family Businesses from the Family Firm Institute (FFI). He is currently the only financial planner in the England to hold this qualification.

Huw has also been enhancing his planning by adding business coaching to his skillset. He is currently undertaking a coaching qualification (Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring for Professionals) with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC). In addition he is also well on his way to becoming a Registered Life Planner (RLP) which will enable much deeper conversations with clients around their life and their money.

2018 has been a good year for Proposito and we’re really looking forward to 2019?!

But before that we’re closing the office over the Christmas period so we can all have a rest and get ready for an amazing (and monumental) 2019. You can see our festive opening times in full HERE.
